Stage 1 – Assess & Consult
The new space for your home or business should be as unique as you are. That’s why our initial time together is spent getting to know you.
Whether we meet in your space or do a virtual tour, we’ll ask questions about your project vision and your budget. We will ask about the things you love, the things you hate, and the things you can’t live without.
We want to learn about your personality, lifestyle, and design preferences.
Some of our clients find it helpful to share photographs from magazines or websites during this stage. A set of existing house plans is always helpful.
Our initial conversation sets the basic framework for the preliminary design plan.
Don’t worry if you have no idea about your specifics goals yet! We will chat things out and ensure we develop a concept that addresses your needs.
Stage 2 – Preliminary Designs
Next we will provide a set of preliminary drawings based on our conversations. From 2D drafting to 3D renderings, these designs will give you your first glimpse of how your new space will look and flow.
Depending on the scope of your project, the preliminary designs may incorporate colours, textures, furnishings, and features you want. And of course these designs keep your budget and style considerations closely in mind.
As this stage happens before we get started working on your physical space, you’ll have ample time to review the plans and design concepts.
We’ll ask for your honest feedback, and you can request changes or additions. We’ll make any requested changes to your designs until you’re happy before we move forward.
Stage 3 – Planning & Scheduling
Upon approval of the preliminary designs, we will move into the planning and management phase. This may include sourcing required permits and finding contractors for your project so we can create a construction schedule.
Island Efficient Interior Design can provide you with a list of our recommended Nanaimo-based contractors who can bid on your work.
Or, for a more comprehensive approach, we can provide complete project management or design/build services so you don’t have to worry about any of the production details.
Stage 4 – Production
With our plans in place and the schedule set, it’s time for the best part: turning your vision into a reality.
Throughout the entire production phase, right until the final piece of furniture is in place, we stay in close contact with you. We’ll help supervise the project until the very end to make sure you’ve gotten exactly what you wanted.
