Meet Joy
I’ve always had a love of organization and beautiful, efficient spaces.
Early on in my education I went through a fairly extensive aptitude test that included academic and trade considerations. The results said I was best suited to become a land surveyor, largely due to my skills at math and my affinity to envision space, proportion, and to see what was not yet there.
In my youthful folly, I rejected that particular career. My argument was that it would only allow me to be involved in the beginning of a project, and not have input to the exciting middle and satisfying end stages.
So instead of surveying, I directed my skills towards interior design and effective and efficient space planning.
I really enjoy working with clients from the planning-on-paper phase, to finish selections, placement of furniture, and use of rooms. I am equally happy to hand-hold from start to finish if needed, or to gently steer a project as needed until completion.

I’m a bit of a tomboy. I love being on job sites, seeing it all come together (in the above photo I’m watching roof trusses being lifted in place). I don’t fit the “glamorous” mold some people imagine when they think of an interior designer. My hair can be a bit unruly, my nails are never polished, and I am certainly not known at the designer clothing stores.
